# Gladiator II ## Review Eh. I wasn't expecting greatness but I was generally underwhelmed with the Gladiator II experience. Somehow managed to lack the spectacle and novelty of the first go around, and largely paying lip service to a plot. I'm not sure if GII is a casualty of the time (so much content!) or the inevitable heat death of a sequel that simply didn't need making. Alas, the coffers must be filled. ### Thoughts & Themes --- After his home is conquered by the tyrannical emperors who now lead Rome, Lucius is forced to enter the Colosseum and must look to his past to find strength to return the glory of Rome to its people.
