## Setting In our last session we argued over doing some mammoth hunting. Eventually we decided not to do it, then continued our travels toward the other village. Many avalanches ensued, it nearly fucks us. The avalanche does uncover a secretive mushroom cave. It's not frozen, it seems warm. ## Encounters ### In the mushroom cave We enter the cave, and [[Broski]] tests the water--it's warm. There's an option to head north to explore, which [[Gray]] does. We are set upon by some vine blights. [[Brosef]] evades them but I do not, critically failing and totally whiffing on the bardic inspiration. [[Zeno]] hits one with a firebolt to great effect, so [[Broski]], being immensely subtle, casts burning hands, vaporizing all the vegetation and basically blinding everyone else. Vine attempts to smashy me, but misses. I cast blade ward on myself and call for [[Brutus]] to help at his leisure. He attacks to start freeing me. We succeed. ### Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder We forge ahead, [[Gray]] discovers a Beholder. He blasts it form afar and it basically nukes the cavern in the vicinity. As we continue on, we discover some Shambling mounds and battle ensues. For some variety, I charge in with the maul to attack the shambling mound, barely do any damage, and get absolutely smashed for 40 damage.
